'Third Force'

When we started living together in 1975, we moved into an empty loft where we worked hard to build walls, sand floors, build a bathroom and a kitchen. We slept on the floor and washed our hair in the sink of the local "greasy spoon" down the street.
This joint effort of creating our new home cemented our connection during a rocky initiatory time. We continued to collaborate on performances, each offering our own special abilities and vision. The performance projects we co-created made possible a greater offering than could have been achieved individually. When two forces unite in love, a third power, a spiritual bridge, opens up to divine wisdom and guidance. We call this power the "Third Force," a potency that shifts a relationship into a transformative path.
By being representatives of love, an angelic guidance system has led us to a relationship with a community to build sacred space, to accomplish something that would be unattainable in isolation. Uniting to build a temple has brought together the talent and ability of those inspired to a higher calling. All members of this love web, celebrating their uniqueness in a common aim, spiral upward, becoming integral to the process, and offering personal strengths and talents.
Humanity hungers for a righteous task. It is not what one person will get for themselves that makes the task righteous. Karma yoga means right action in service to the divine. Building a temple is a classic act of devotion that delights the soul. What is gained by an individual that participates in the creation of a Chapel? It is the knowledge that countless others will be uplifted by their efforts offered for the benefit of all beings.
As Valentine's Day approaches we honor our relationships with loved ones. Consider bringing a beloved friend to the Couples Art Retreat on Valentine's Day weekend. The Full Moon ceremony is on Saturday, January 30th and we look forward to seeing many of you there.
