Lesson: 'The Teacher'

Lesson: 2

Esoteric Christianity, with its transformational practices and techniques, is rarely known to the masses. Some of its principles are discovered through the study of metaphysics, mystical, new thought ideas, or even agnostic approaches. However, all ideas are in danger of being distorted or glamorized, even over-simplified when taken out of context.

Historical creeds of all religions have some aspect deeply preserved until the aspirant is prepared or is experiencing little-understood spiritual phenomena. At that point, the adage, When the student is ready, the teacher “appears,” truly seems to work. Someone will reach out and, if only for a brief time, guide the one in need across troubled waters to safety.

"When the student is ready, the teacher appears."

To begin to explain Esoteric Christianity requires boldness, audacity, and tenacity. It can be endless in definition because it transforms the experiencer and the experience redefines the faith. However, as contemporary Christians find themselves needing a greater personal sense of intimacy (not dogma or doctrine) with their spiritual Source, this recognizable route to God gradually emerges, expanding personal spiritual experiences. We learn to “see” with new eyes.

A major challenge for many is the manner in which Esoteric Christianity’s belief in Master Jesus holds a far broader understanding than most have. Esoteric Christians’ belief in Jesus as the Christ contains a more cosmic awareness than most denominations teach. Esotericists believe as the Christ, Jesus pointed his followers to the Source of Life, as he affirmed his own oneness with this Source.

The symbology of Oneness is important toesotericists as they begin to lift their thinking to identify with Soul, rather than the personality. The mantra “"I am The Soul”" is a tool used to affirm this new identity.
