Your Golden Age of One

"Your Golden Age of one"

In the Age of Perfect Virtue they were upright and correct, without knowing

that to be so was righteousness; they loved one another, without knowing that

to do so was benevolence; they were honest and true-hearted without knowing

that it was good faith; in their simple movements they employed the services

of one another without thinking that they were conferring or receiving any gift.

Chinese Sage Chuang Tzu (4th century A.D.)

- Clear up any messes with anyone now; ask for forgiveness if you think you may have hurt someone.

- Be thankful for everything — even if it hurts! Not being thankful only hurts one person (guess who?).

- Make a conscious effort to focus on your Heart where the Golden Age of one resides — try this

at a stoplight where each of us can stop the endless chatter of our mind by the Light of the Heart.

- While washing dishes or cleaning the kitchen, make it fun; after all, it’s said the kitchen is

the heart of the home.

- Say grace and ask for blessings over every meal for a special cause; they could add up really

fast (depending upon how much you eat!).

- Give everyone the benefit of the doubt — it gets heavy carrying the extra baggage around!

- Create beauty in the vacuum wherever you are — so the Golden Age can rush in and

work its magic on all.

- Always thank someone who waits on you from your Heart; it may be the only thanks

they receive all day.

- Tell every mom and dad how beautiful their baby is — after all, aren’t all babies beautiful?

And we may just change how at that moment they’re seeing their child.

- Write a letter of gratitude to someone who has helped you — it completes the circle.

- Perform small acts of kindness and secret acts of Service every day without telling the person

who is the recipient (set a cup of tea on their desk, a flower at their doorstep) and let them

be amazed at the Grace of the universe.

- Give something you love to someone else who would love it —

after all, in the Golden Age we’re all one so you’re really giving a gift to yourself!

- Listen empathetically to someone without judging them.  You don’t have to have any answers;

just being heard can be incredibly healing in itself.

- Above all, hold high expectations for yourself, but also forgive yourself;

you cannot do any of the above if you’re always condemning yourself!

Through these acts of remembrance and others like it, we will “be” the Golden Age of one

wherever we are. For it is through simple acts of Holy Innocence, where there is no thought of

personal gain, that we become like children and enter the most sacred of all places, our Heart,

where the Golden Age already resides.
